Asbestos Contractor Supervisor Initial

The Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial Class is a 40 hour class meeting all EPA and Michigan requirements for employees functioning as a Competent Person during Class I, Class II, and Class III asbestos work .  This class is prerequisite to obtaining a Michigan Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor License.  Maintenance of the license requires completion of a one day (8 hour) refresher class once a year.  These  classes are scheduled monthly at our Kalamazoo  training facility.

  • TSCA rules on asbestos (40CFR763) 
  • NESHAPS subparts A and M 
  • OSHA standards (29CFR1926.1101) 
  • OSHA standards for respiratory protection programs and medical monitoring mrograms (29CFR1910.134, 29CFR1910.1020). 
• Insurance and liability issues.  
   
• Recordkeeping for asbestos abatement projects.  
   
• Supervisory techniques for asbestos abatement activities.  
   
• Contract specifications.  
   
• Building owner and contractor responsibilities  
  • Inspection 
  • Notifications to state 
  • Licensure of asbestos workers
